The Advocates of Hailey –

Serving Blaine, Camas, Lincoln and Custer Counties

Domestic Violence and Child Care Center.

 

American Red Cross

Serving the United Way-South Central Idaho Eight- County Region

Disaster Services – provides critical relief to victims of disasters and helps people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies. Health and Safety – providing life saving Health & Safety information and training.

Services to Armed Forces – emergency contact and transportation for men and women serving in the military.

 

Blaine County Education Foundation

Their Can Do Academy provides after school introductory Spanish Language courses for students in grades 1-5, that assists in integrating Spanish speaking children into their english speaking curriculum, and provides for more interaction between English and Spanish speaking students.

 

CARES

Child Trauma Recovery Resource

Serving the United Way-South Central Idaho Eight- County Region

Resources and services for children who are victims of abuse and their non-offending parents.

 

Fifth Judicial District CASA Program

Serving the United Way-South Central Idaho Eight- County Region

Trained and qualified Guardian Ad Litem appointment and advocacy for abused, neglected, or abandoned children in court protective cases. Voice for the child, protections of child’s legal rights, investigation of special needs, assurance of safety and security.

 

Crisis Center of Magic Valley

Serving the United Way-South Central Idaho Eight- County Region

Assisting victims of domestic violence and sexual assault with shelter, transportation, counseling, legal and medical support.

 

CSI Foster Grandparents

Utilizes Senior citizens in elementary school classes to assist children with reading and other skills. Working with children helps provide the Senior with a sense of purpose, while the children develop confidence and life skills from the individual attention they receive from the Foster Grandparent.

 

CSI Retired Senior Volunteer Program Senior Companion Program

Serving the United Way-South Central Idaho Eight- County Region

Providing a safety net for the frail elderly through companionship with others.

 

Easter Seals/Goodwill-

Assists youth with at-risk factors through Restorative intervention

 

Free Meds of Cassia County

Assists low income citizens in obtaining prescription medications they cannot afford.

 

 

Girl Scouts – Silver Sage

Serving the United Way-South Central Idaho Eight- County Region

Girl Scouts builds girls of courage, confidence and character through opportunities for personal development under the guidance of dedicated adult mentors.  Youth development programs, after school programs, summer program for girls 5-17 years old.

 

Idaho Youth Ranch-

Provides Animal Assistance Therapy for at risk youth

 

Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers

Twin Falls, Jerome, Gooding and Lincoln counties

Serves individuals with conditions limiting their ability to remain independent in their own home with dignity and safety. Services include home modification, homemaking, business and domestic task assistance, transportation and respite care.

 

Mini-Cassia Shelter for Women and Children

Cassia and Minidoka Counties

Providing aid and resources for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.

 

Mountainview Christian Church Food Bank

An extension of the Idaho Food Bank, providing food for low income citizens in Mini-Cassia counties

 

Pregnancy Crisis Center

Offers an Abstinence program for educating youth to combat STD's and unplanned pregnancies.

 

Rising Stars Therapeutic Riding Center

Provides hippotherapy and therapeutic riding for children and adults with disabilities

 

Safe Kids

Serving the United Way-South Central Idaho Eight- County Region

Prevention of accidental childhood injury from motor vehicle crashes through their Car Seat program. Part of Safe Kids Worldwide, a global organization made up of more that 450 coalitions in 15 countries.

 

Salvation Army

Serving the United Way-South Central Idaho Eight- County Region

Provide basic human needs during time of crisis for family or individual. Clothing, household, rental, transportation & medical assistance.

 

Sawtooth Interpretive Center-

Offer a summer daily Education Program at the Redfish Visitor Center called ‘Sawtooth Synopsis’, an informal presentation on glaciers, mtn. pine beetles, and local hot springs.

 

Sun Valley Adaptive Sports

P.A.C.K  summer camp is the only regional summer day camp program in the Wood River Valley for youth, teens and adults with disabilities- a much needed resource for this underserved population.

 

South Central Community Action Partnership

Serving the United Way-South Central Idaho Eight- County Region

offers multiple programs addressing poverty issues. Programs are developed to change people’s lives, embody the spirit of hope and make communities stronger. Food boxes, medical and housing assistance.

Senior Centers, United Ways supports Sr. Centers throughout the southern Idaho Region in Blaine County, Buhl, Jerome, Hagerman, Kimberly and Eden (in the past- Twin Falls, Rupert, Burley, Filer and Gooding)

Senior Centers are more than Senior Centers, they are Community Centers providing opportunity for seniors, families, youth  to gather socially, providing entertainment, education and help opportunities, and information and referral for health and human services. Centers offer healthy balanced meals at minimal cost.

Local Senior Centers provides meals to the home bound.  At times these meal programs are the only outside contact for homebound individuals. With the delivery of a meal, volunteers check on recipients to see if they need anything else, like shopping, prerscription pickup or transportation to doctor appointments
